Announcement: As an Epic Birthday Present, we now have a reliable daily build of the bootstrap file needed for a new node server installation. Although we have recently made great improvements in the time to sync a new node (from 72 hrs to 20 hrs) having a daily copy of the blockchain will allow a new sync to finish in a few minutes.
To use:
Download from bootstrap.epic.tech/bootstrap.zip.
Run the new node server once to create the default files then shut down after a minute.
Move the bootstrap.zip file to .epic/main.
Delete the chain_data folder.
Unzip bootstrap.zip (creates chain_data folder and all files).
Delete bootstrap.zip
Now when you run the node server it will finish syncing very quickly as it will have less than 24 hrs of blocks to catch up.
